Locomotive Header South African Railways Class 19D
The Class 19 series were designed as a 4-8-2 branch line locomotive. The first of the series were designed by Col.F.R. Collins and delivered by Berliner Machinenbau. The last of the series were the 19D, built by Krupp, Borsig and Skoda before the war. A further 50 were supplied immediately after the war by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorn Ltd, and in 1949 a further 50 were supplied by North British Locomotive Co. This last order was fitted with the Vanderbilt tender with a cylindrical water tank and six wheel "Buckeye" bogies. The class saw service in all parts of the country, with the Vanderbilt tender versions allocated to the the more arid regions. These locomotives had a tractive effort of 31850 lbs at 75% boiler pressure.

Kit Features:
This locomotive kit is manufactured by DJH Engineering in the United Kingdom and consists predominantly of white metal castings with etched brass cab and details, valve gear and motion are etched nickel silver. A Mashima can motor, a gearbox, RP25 wheels and Kadee No.5 couplers are included. The kit is designed to run on 16.5mm gauge H.O. track.
